Remember the ancient comic book ads for the 99 lb weakling who had sand kicked in his face by a beach bully? Did he go home and hide? Not at all! He sent away for a body-building course and was back on the beach a few months later, biceps bulging, with the bullies running for cover!
That fantasy of transforming oneself from being just one of the herd into
a superman has had us all daydreaming at one time or another. Who doesn't
want to be admired for his great physique and strength? Is it possible?
Can we also do it? Read on!!
Truth is that Chuck Norris wasn't always the strong silent hero that the
movies have shown us. As a kid he was scrawny and under-developed and it
was only after he discovered martial arts training while on army service
that he started to reach his potential. Had he not taken that step he would
have munching popcorn at the movies like everyone else watching his favorite
hero pulverize the bad guys!
The great lesson that we can learn from Chuck Norris is that one needs to
dream and then make that dream a reality by doing something practical about
it. True, it can't be done overnight; not even in a few months, but every
little step we take down the road of improving ourselves adds up to reaching
our goal.
I think the real truth we can learn from Chuck Norris is not that we can
all be great athletes reaching the pinnacle of success in every field, but
that we can work on ourselves, and transform ourselves physically and mentally
into something much better than we are now. No matter where you find yourself
now, you have the potential to be a better achiever. So why not take a leaf
out of Chuck Norris's book and go for it!
